The IPTE 21 cohort is a two-year professional development programme for primary school teacher trainees. The course follows a 2 IN – 2 OUT – 2 IN model:
- First 2 terms: Trainees attend college for theoretical instruction in core education subjects.
- Next 2 terms: Teaching practice at assigned primary schools to gain practical classroom experience.
- Final 2 terms: Return to college to consolidate learning, finalize assessments, and prepare for certification.

Eligibility and Minimum Entry Requirements

- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent obtained between 2015 and 2026.
