YEDF to Finance KMTC Students Seeking Jobs Abroad

Youth Enterprise Fund to Finance KMTC Students Seeking Jobs Abroad

In todays latest KMTC News – The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) announced a strategic partnership to provide financial support for students pursuing job opportunities abroad.

Under this initiative, YEDF will offer loans to students who have successfully completed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
“We are considering covering their travel-related expenses and potentially supporting their accommodation, upkeep, and local transport,” said YEDF CEO Mr. Josiah Moriasi.

KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to ease the financial burden on students aspiring to work abroad.

“The cost of preparing for and transitioning to international employment is often prohibitive, with expenses estimated at Ksh. 1 million, covering exam preparation and related costs,” Dr. Oluoch explained.

“With this partnership, we are breaking barriers to ensure that every qualified student, regardless of their financial background, can access global job opportunities,” he added.

He reaffirmed KMTC’s commitment to supporting students in securing employment beyond Kenya’s borders.

KMTC and YEDF will develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the implementation framework to formalize the partnership.

Mr. Moriasi emphasized that the fund is expanding its financing models to facilitate labor mobility, ensuring more Kenyans can secure employment overseas.
