The WAAW Foundation Scholarship offers African female college students the opportunity to pursue STEM-related studies while engaging in community service. This program supports scholars with financial need, recognizes academic excellence, and encourages leadership and volunteering through the STEM Outreach Chapter at their university. Eligible applicants can focus on their studies and contribute to promoting women in STEM across Africa.
We are looking for scholars that show a need, have the passion, and drive to make a difference in their community.

Eligibility Criteria
- Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa.
- Presently a first or second year student or a third-year student for a 5-year course in a University.
- Ability to demonstrate financial need
- Excellent Academic Record.
- Proven leadership, volunteering, and community service
- Below the age of 32 years.

Required Documents
- 2 Reference Letters
- 1 scanned copy of your school ID card.
- Signed and sealed copy of your current university transcript. (Required during the Second Stage Review).

Required Course
- Only STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) related courses are accepted and will be considered for the scholarship offer.
- Medical and Nursing students are not eligible to apply for the WAAW Foundation scholarship but pharmacy students are.
What is the Award
The WAAW Foundation scholarship is a one-time award of $500.
How is the Scholarship Payment Made
The scholarship is disbursed in two tranches (installments):
- First Payment: Issued after the scholar successfully completes at least three (3) outreach activities.
- Second Payment: Released upon completion of a total of six (6) outreach activities.
