University of Malawi 2025 Graduation Ceremony Schedule and Programme Details – The University of Malawi wishes to inform graduands, parents, guardians and the general public that its 1st Congregation for 2025 will be held as follows:
1. WEDNESDAY, 30TH APRIL 2025
Graduands and the general public should note that His Excellency the State President of the Republic of Malawi and the Chancellor of the University of Malawi, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwerawill preside over the first graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 30th April 2025, in The Great Hall in Zomba from 9:30 a.m.

HIRING OF ACADEMIC DRESS
Academic dress for the congregation shall be available for hire from Tuesday,22nd April, 2025, from the University of Malawi in Zomba at the following fee:
(a)Certificate Set: K60,000.00
(b)Diploma Set:K60,000.00
(c)Bachelors Set: K70,000.00
(d)Postgraduate Diploma Set: K150,000.00
(e)Masters Set:K170,000.00
(f)PhD Set:K220,000.00
All graduands are required to return their academic dress immediately after the graduation ceremony. Failure to
return the academic dress shall attract a penalty fee equivalent to the graduation processing fee for the respective academic dress charged per day of delay.
This fee must be paid in full before the release of the graduation certificate. Please note that graduands with outstanding fees balances have not been included in thisgraduation.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals for each session will be heldin the Great Hall as follows:
a. Congregation A: Tuesday, 29th April, 2025 from 8:00 a.m.
b. Congregation B: Tuesday, 29thApril, 2025 from 11.00 am.
c. Congregation C: Tuesday, 29thApril, 2025 from 1:00 p.m.
d. Congregation D: Tuesday, 29thApril, 2025 from 3:00 p.m.
All graduands are required to be punctual. Only those who attend rehearsals will be permitted to graduate.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND OTHER BUSINESSES
The University has designated specific areas for photography and otherbusinesses. All businesses shall be required to pay to the Cashier as follows:
a. Photography inside the Great Hall: K60, 000.00
b. Photography outside the Great Hall: K35, 000.00
c. Other businesses: K25,000.00(minimum)
