UNEB Directs Schools to Publicly Display 2025 Examination Candidate Registers for Verification. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) hereby informs Heads of Centres, District, City and Municipal Inspectors of Schools that they are required to display the 2025 Candidates’ registers for viewing by the concerned parties. The mandatory period of display of registers is from 10th August – 10th October, 2025. As provided for in the UNEB Act, Cap 259 S.4(2), the candidates’ registers should be displayed in a conspicuous place at the school/Examination Centre where the candidates are registered, and, at the district headquarters respectively.
Parents of those learners who have been studying in schools that do not have UNEB centre status should establish where these learners were registered and confirm that the learners have been duly registered. This is important to avoid unfortunate scenarios where students are discovered unregistered at the start of the examination period. In the event that a student, who has proof of payment of registration fees is not registered, the parent should contact the school, and if they are not helped, they should report to UNEB immediately for remedial action.
UNEB has also provided an SMS option accessible through the mobile telephone handsets for the purpose of ascertaining the registration status. One will be required to know the full index number that has been assigned to the candidate. They will go to the SMS option on their handset, type Reg., leave a space, put the Full Index No. and send to 6600.
It is the responsibility of Heads of Centres, candidates and parents to critically analyse the registers and confirm the accuracy of the candidates’ biodata pertaining to the Index/Personal Number; Spelling and order of names; Date of Birth in the order prescribed by UNEB (Day, Month, Year); Gender; the correct high resolution photograph attached to the rightful candidate’s name, and the Subjects and papers registered for in the case of UCE and UACE. In compliance with the Personal Data Privacy and Protection Act, Heads of Centres should ensure that only the relevant bio data for verification is displayed, as indicated herein.
Where there is a discrepancy in the biodata or photograph of a candidate, the centre should formally communicate to UNEB for correction within the stipulated period. For PLE adjustments, the schools should fill an amendment form provided on the portal and submit it to UNEB. At UCE and UACE levels, schools are required to write an amendment request letter to UNEB and attach copies of either the National Identify Cards or Birth Certificates of candidates whose details need to be revised.
For any further guidance on UNEB 2025 candidate registration verification, parents and Heads of Centres can call UNEB on 041-777-3100; 0312-206-300; or use the toll free line; 0800-111-427; or our customer care Nos.; 0760-131-261; 0776-865-556; 0776-993-335.
