Call for Application: Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) 2026 Bursaries for South Africans.TETA invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries for the 2026 academic year.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

  • Learners currently in Grade 12 or who completed matric intending to study qualifications selected for the 2026 intake (see qualification list below).

  • Currently registered students at universities and colleges and who require funding for the 2026 academic year

  • Aviation students with valid SPL, PPL or CPL

  • Commercial divers with matric (Senior Certificate).

Applicants must be studying or intending to study at a University (Public and Accredited Private Institutions), University of Technology, and either Public and Private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. This includes Accredited Aviation and Diving Schools.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES THE TETA BURSARY FUND

Qualifications funded through the TETA bursary are dictated by emerging industry needs, hence they change from time to time.

  • N4-N6 or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • N4-N6 or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • N4-N6 or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Financial Management.
  • N4-N6 or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Management or Administration.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Logistics Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Road Transport Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Supply Chain Management including Warehouse, Storage and Distribution.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transportation Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transport Economics.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Information Communication Technology.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Risk Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma, B Degree or Honours Degree in Operations Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Health and Safety Management.
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Maritime or Nautical Studies.
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Health or Bachelor of Environmental Management.
  • National Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cybersecurity.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence.
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Health or Bachelor of Environmental Management.
  • National Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cybersecurity.
  • Diploma in Mechatronics.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development.
  • BSc (BCom) in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies.
  • Postgrad Diploma in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence
  • Diploma in Cloud Computing / Networking.
  • B Degree/BSc in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • B Degree in Marine Law.
  • B Degree in Marine Engineering.
  • B Law.
  • BCom Accounting.
  • BSc in Data Sciences.
  • Master’s Degree – Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence.
  • Master of Science in Machine Learning.
  • Master of Science in Robotics or any other Research topics relevant to the transport sector.
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD) – Research topics Relevant to the transport sector.
  • Commercial Divers, Class II, III and IV.
  • Private Pilot License.
  • Instructor’s Rating License.
  • CPL with ATPL Subjects (Frozen ATPL).
  • ATPL (Air Transport Pilot License).
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence.

WHAT DOES TETA BURSARY COVER

  • Tuition.

  • Accommodation on or off campus.

  • Transport (where applicable).

  • Books and.

  • Meals.

HOW DO I APPLY

APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THE ONLINE BURSARY APPLICATION SYSTEM. NO HAND DELIVERED APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants must be South African citizens and Permanent Resident.

  • Applicants for the aforementioned qualifications may be preferred.

  • Applications to ensure all required documents are included in the application.
