Third Intake of Women Leadership Development Programme Launched By SASSA and Regenesys Business School

Third Intake of Women Leadership Development Programme Launched By SASSA and Regenesys Business School .

In todays latest SASSA News – The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in partnership with Regenesys Business School launched the third intake of the Women Leadership Development Programme on Tuesday 06 May 2025 at the Regenesys campus in Sandton.

This dynamic and groundbreaking programme presents an opportunity for senior and middle managers to sharpen their leadership and managerial skills. In addition, this initiative aims to empower young and emerging women managers, equipping them with strategic leadership skills to thrive and lead with confidence in a dynamic public service environment. The programme will run for six months, with a key focus on strategic leadership skills development, strategic analysis, people management and emotional intelligence, among others.

In her keynote address, Acting SASSA CEO Ms. Raphaahle Ramokgopa highlighted the critical need to develop and cultivate capable and visionary women leaders in the Social Development sector. “This pivotal partnership with Regenesys Business School is a catalyst in unlocking some of the chains hindering our progress in addressing some of the myriads of issues facing our society”, said Ms. Ramokgopa.

“As the Agency we were very happy when we looked at the course outline that the programme is focusing on areas such as Strategic Leadership; Emotional Intelligence; People Management; Digitization and Coaching & Mentoring. The latter mentioned programme scope were the main reason we chose, without hesitation, to partner with Regenesys Business School because they have what we need most for our young and developing women leaders”, she added.

In the 2024/2025 financial year, 41 women successfully completed the programme, it is expected that 40 more will participate in the programme in the 2025/2026 financial year (i.e. cohorts 3 and 4). At the end of the contract term, 120 women would have benefitted from the programme.
Mr. Siphiwe Sakela, who is the programme coordinator welcomed participants; “I am looking forward to your feedback please be as honest and frank as you can be. Your feedback is critical to us shaping this programme to your needs”, he said.

In his welcome note, Mr. William Vivian, Director: Corporate Education at Regenesys said he is looking forward to robust learning and engagements with participants and encouraged them to challenge and push themselves. “Our job is to challenge you; push the facilitators, push yourselves”, he urged.
