Call for Application -Thembisile Hani Local Municipality Non-Financial Grant Fund 2025. Thembisile Hani Local Municipality is calling on Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), Cooperatives, Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) and Non- Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to apply for a non- financial grant funding.

An initiative by the municipality to provide local businesses with support through purchasing the business tools of trade to ensure growth and sustainability of Thembisile Hani local businesses. This initiative seeks to enhance local economic growth, job creation and tackle other socio-economic issues.

The funding covers business operating within the following business sectors: Manufacturing, Hospitality, Agriculture, Construction, Services (Salons, Consulting, Design and Marketing, Education and Training, Internet Cafes, Gardening/ Landscaping, etc), Retail, and Technology.

Compulsory Requirements:

  • Fully completed application form.
  • Proof of Company registration (SMMEs, Cooperatives, NGOs and NPO)
  • Certified ID Copy of the business owner (not older than 3 months).
  • SARS Tax Pin Verification.
  • Confirmation of Business Bank Account.
  • Business profile.
  • Municipal account not in arrears.
  • Proof of residence/ Lease agreement/ Permission to occupy/ Title Deed.
  • Quotations of the tools of trade requested.
  • Compulsory attendance of briefing session.

Applicants must take note of the following:

1. The funding can only purchase the tools of trade in respect to the nature of the business activities.

2. The maximum number of tools of trade the applicant can apply for is to the value of R100 000.00 per business.

3. The funding is only meant for existing and operating businesses. (NB: A business must have been in operation for a period of at least 12 months, therefore no start-up businesses will be considered).

4. Only South African Citizens residing and operation within the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality can apply (no sub-leasing allowed).

5. Business that has previously benefited from this programme will not be considered. 6. An entity must be 50% black owned businesses.

7. Youth, women and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

8. This funding is strictly a non-financial support grant (no money will be given to business only tools of trade requested by applicants will be received from the municipality).

A compulsory briefing session will be held at 10:00 on the 4th of March 2025 at the Municipal Shelter, Mthombomuhle (Kwaggafontein) Offices.

NB: THE GRANT IS ONLY FOR EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS, AND THE MUNICIPALITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO GRANT OR WITHDRAW THE FUNDING.

The application forms can be collected at Thembisile Hani Local Municipal Offices (LED Office) or be downloaded from our municipal website from the 4th of March 2025 and enquiries may be directed to Mr. W.S. Msiza @ 013 986 9160 or [email protected].

All application should submit in a sealed envelope marked as per the type of business e.g., SMME, Cooperative, NPO and NGO, and hand delivered to our Municipal offices at Stand No. 24C, Kwaggafontein, Opposite the Police Station. They should be drooped in the bid tender box at the main entrance of our municipal offices.

CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 14th of March 2025 at 14h00. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
