The Gambia Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Finalizes 2025–2026 General Staff Postings. The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) wishes to inform all education stakeholders and the general public that the 2025–2026 General Postings of staff have been finalized. The postings are geared towards strengthening equitable distribution of teachers and ensuring quality education delivery across the country.

The following set of FAQs has also been prepared to guide staff and stakeholders on the postings


1. ‎How do I know my postings?

‎To check your posting, send your employment number to 445 using a Qcell network.

2. ‎Where can I go to address my posting issues?

‎All posting issues must be directed to the regional director concerned through writing.

3. ‎What do the following designations mean?

- Advertisement -
  •  CT: Classroom Teacher
  • ‎ HT: Headteacher in Lower Basic Schools (LBS)
  • ‎ HM: Headmaster/Mistress in Upper Basic Schools (UBS)
  • ‎ DHT: Deputy Headteacher in LBS
  • ‎ DHM: Deputy Headmaster/Mistress in UBS
  • ‎ SM: Senior Master/Mistress in all school levels
  • On studies: Currently on study leave.

NB: Staff on study leave must provide a copy of their approved study leave letter, to their new school.

4. ‎What is the stabilization period?

‎The stabilization period is when MOBSE officers visit all schools to confirm that all posted staff have reported and to assist the school administration with proper workload distribution. You are required to be present at your post during this period to avoid being counted as having failed to report.

5. ‎What about Auxiliary staff?
‎All auxiliary personnel are posted accordingly. They should be assisted in knowing their postings, and a comprehensive list will be provided to the regional authorities to ensure compliance with the postings.

‎6. ‎What should officers do if their posting does not match their current office location?

‎Officers whose postings do not match their current office location are required to report to the Director, HR, with their redeployment letter.
