TEVET Bursary 2026 Zambia: Apply at Ministry of Technology and Science

The TEVET Bursary, under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS) is offered to vulnerable students who are not able to pay user fees for them to access skills training. This is in line with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) Policy which has one of its objectives of increasing access and participation to TEVET and also having equitable access to skills training.

The TEVET Bursary Committee invites applications from successful School Leavers in need of Bursary support for the 2026 academic year at all Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS) Training Institutions.

THE SCOPE OF THE SCHEME

The Bursaries shall be awarded to applicants who apply for programs offered by TEVET institutions under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS) and registered with Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA).
These TEVET programs range from Skills Awards to Diploma Level (Technologist) and the durations of study range from a few weeks up to three (3) years.

TEVET Bursary award shall cover the following key areas:

  • Tuition fees to institution (100%) paid directly to training providers;
  • Boarding fees particularly to rural institutions (to those that deserve boarding) paid directly to the training providers; and
  • Examination fees at 100% shall be paid directly to the training providers.

ELIGIBILITY

The Bursary will be offered to students that will meet the vulnerability selection criteria under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare.

The applicant shall also meet the following:

  • Must be Zambian and in possession of a Green National Registration Card (NRC);
  • Must possess an acceptance letter from a MOTS Institution;
  • Must possess any of the following qualifications:

Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent for those applying for (Craft/Certificate, Technician/ Advanced Certificate, Technologist/ Diploma programmes);

Grade 9 Certificate, or Grade 7 Certificate for those applying for Trade Test Level programmes.

  • Must not be on any other Bursary or Scholarship;
  • Must not be more than 35 years; and
  • Must meet the vulnerability criteria from the Social Welfare Department (SWD) in the District they reside in and a Vulnerability status report should be obtained.

Note that all applicants for the TEVET Bursary are expected to attach PDF documents that meet the eligibility criteria, and any other necessary documents in support of their application.

e.g. for orphaned applicants – copies of death certificate of deceased parents or guardians.
Females and Persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
