Students Of MIJ Taught how to Access HESLGB Loan – Students at the Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) in Blantyre have, for the first time, been oriented on the process of accessing loans from the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB). This follows the institution’s recent accreditation by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
Speaking during the orientation session on Wednesday, MIJ Students Representative Council President, Zikomo Pindani, pledged to ensure that all students, including those who missed the session, are well-informed about the upcoming loan application window and the application process.
In other news, The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) Students’ Representative Council President, Emmanuel Siwinda, has also urged former student loan beneficiaries to repay their loans to support current needy students seeking financial assistance from the Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB).

Speaking during the recent first-year orientation at the university, Siwinda emphasized that timely loan repayments are essential for sustaining the program and ensuring that more financially challenged students can access higher education in Malawi.
