Stellenbosch University Now Official External Quality assurer for Lesotho Advanced Secondary Certificate (LASC) – Lesotho’s new national school-leaving qualification, the Lesotho Advanced Secondary Certificate (LASC), will expand educational opportunities for children both within the country and abroad. This initiative was made possible through a significant partnership established between Stellenbosch University (SU) and the Lesotho Ministry of Education and Training.
The signing of this historic agreement was conducted by the Rector and Vice-Chancellor of Stellenbosch University, Pro. Deresh Ramjugernath, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Examinations Council of Lesotho, Dr. Mokhitli Khoabane.
The event was witnessed by Mr. Ratsiu Majara, the Principal Secretary of Education and Training in Lesotho, along with Prof. Tšepo Mokuku, Chairperson of the Examinations Council of Lesotho, Dr. Makhube Ralenkoane, Deputy Chairperson of the Examinations Council of Lesotho, and Mrs. Limakatso Rakeketsi, Senior Manager of the Examinations Council of Lesotho.
As a result of this agreement, Stellenbosch University will now serve as the official external quality assurer for the Lesotho Advanced Secondary Certificate (LASC).
