INTERNSHIP VACANCIES IN STATE DEPARTMENT FOR BASIC EDUCATION

Call for Application – State Department for Basic Education Kenya 1000 ICT Internship Opportunities 2025. The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education has declared 1,000 vacancies for internship under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 4. Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at Sub County Level, where, in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, the interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this internship position, a candidate must have graduated not earlier than 2020, and be:

  • In possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Education with specialization in Information Communication Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT; or a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education, from a recognized institution;

  • Knowledgeable in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security, and project management;

  • Able to integrate ICT with Education in terms of E-Learning and content development;

  • Skilled to carry out research and innovation to support the Digital Literacy Programme;

  • Willing to be deployed to any Sub County Education office on a full-time basis.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Support E-Learning and content development aligned with schemes of work.

  2. Train Primary School teachers in using digital literacy devices and provide class support.

  3. Support implementation of the Digital Learning Programme.

  4. Innovate to improve schools’ use of digital learning.

  5. Promote safe, secure, and ethical use of technology in learning.

  6. Assist teachers in integrating ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment.

  7. Support staff in developing school policies and procedures.

  8. Provide first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.

Duration of Internship

Twelve (12) months – Non-renewable.

Stipend

Interns will receive a government-determined stipend from the State Department.

Certificate

Upon successful completion, interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department.
