The Botswana Examination Council has stated how students can merge thier (JCE) certificates, below are the requirements and dsocuments for the combination.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MERGING OF CERTIFICATE (JCE ONLY)
I. To combine results, you must complete Application for Combination of JCE Results Form and submit to Botswana Examinations Council (BEC)
2. Combination of results can be done only once. (Only JCE level results can be combined)
3. BEC will do an initial assessment of the application to determine whether the results meet the BEC requirement for combination.
4. Note that further to meeting BEC requirements for combination, the candidate’s results should meet the selection cut-off requirements of the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education, if the candidate wishes to seek for selection to Form 4.
5. BEC is only responsible for combination of results, and not selection to Form 4.
6. Upon completion of results combination process, BEC submits the combined results to Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education for consideration.
7. The combined results will be ready for collection in six (6) weeks. 8.The deadline for combination of result request is six (6) weeks after the release of JCE results (six weeks from the 4th of February 2025) 9. A fee of P250.00.
The following documents most accompany the application form:
a) A certified copy of the candidate’s identity card document (Omang for citizen and passport for non-Citizen) and the original document
b) Original certificate to be combined for both years.
c) Statement of Results for latest examination d) Request letter from applicant/candidate.
• Names on the certificates to be identical to names on the identity document (otherwise proof to be provided)
• Surnames on the certificate to on the to be identical to surname on the identity documents (otherwise prove to be provided in the form of change of sumame from Omang office, letter from Kgosi or marriage certificate.
• When a person other than the owner of the certificates makes the request, the requester is expected to produce an Affidavit from the owner of the certificates to combine on their behalf.
• When a person other than the owner of the certificates collects a combined certificate, he/she is expected to produce an affidavit from the owner of the certificates on their behalf..
