Republic of Trinidad and Tobago 2025/2026 First-Year Infant Registration Ongoing. The Ministry of Education continues to support the enrolment of students into First-Year Infant classes for the 2025/2026 academic year through the First-Year Infant Registration System of Trinidad and Tobago (FIRSTT). Launched on Monday, February 17, 2025, FIRSTT is a comprehensive online parent portal designed to streamline the registration process for all 452 government and government-assisted primary schools.

The application period remained open until April 4, 2025, followed by the school selection phase, which occurred from April 7 to May 12, 2025.

As of May 13, 2025, parents were notified of their children’s school placements and commenced the enrolment process. This current enrolment phase remains open through May 23, 2025. During this period, parents can continue to access the FIRSTT portal to finalize their children’s enrolment at schools where placement has been offered.

Starting May 24, 2025, applicants who were “Not Admitted” to any of their selected schools will have the opportunity to reapply to schools with available spaces during the residual stage. Additionally, parents who did not submit an application during the initial period will be permitted to apply to schools for admittance into schools with available of spaces.

To support parents and guardians in navigating the FIRSTT platform and to provide clarity on the admissions process, the Ministry of Education will host a live webinar on Monday, May 19, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Interested persons may register for the session at the following link.

As of May 15, 2025, the national enrolment rate through the FIRSTT platform stands at 40.3%, representing 6,743 students who have successfully enrolled across Trinidad and Tobago. Notably, this figure reflects active enrolment within the last 72 hours. The portal remains open for continued enrolment.

The FIRSTT platform supports efficient processing through features such as multi-school applications, digital document upload and verification, real-time application tracking, automated updates, and centralized data reporting.

The Honourable Dr. Michael Dowlath, Minister of Education, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to equity and access, emphasizing that Schools Supervisors remain actively engaged in supporting families to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn.
