PNG NICTA GIRLS IN ICT TERTIARY SCHOLARSHIP 2025 WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Papua New Guinea (PNG) Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Timoty Masiu has announced the four winners of 2025 NICTA Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship.
The recipients of this years’ scholarships are all from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology

1. Emily Isaiah – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, University of Technology
2. Lewina Kari – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, University of Technology
3. Taira Parker Yola – Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, University of Technology
4. Francisca Oaike- Bachelor of Business in Information Technology, University of Technology

When congratulating the winners, Minister Masiu called on all stakeholders to join the government in its commitment to empower girls in ICT. “Let us work together to break down stereotypes, challenge biases and create a future where every girl in Papua New Guinea has the opportunity to reach her full potential in the digital world. By investing in our girls, we are investing in the future of our nation” , said Minister Masiu.

The NICTA Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship features fully funded scholarship for undergraduate degree programs for girls who want to pursue careers in ICT and STEM. Since its inception in 2016, the NICTA Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship has been proving a pathway for girls in technology, touching lives and making a huge difference in lives of those who have benefited from the program.
