NAHCON Recruitment 2025 for Medical Professionals – Application for Medical team begins 8th March 2025 as NAHCON is set to recruit adhoc Medical Professionals for 2025 Hajj.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is set to launch its recruitment portal for ad-hoc medical professionals to serve on the 2025 Hajj medical team. The application portal will be opened on 8th March 2025 from 12.00 midnight and will be closed on 14th March 2025 by 11.59pm marking the beginning of a competitive selection process that will ultimately determine who provides healthcare services to tens of thousands of Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The 2025 National Medical Team Operation will be based on volunteerism in line with the International Standard as agreed by the NAHCON Management and application is free.
The commission seeks qualified doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare specialists. Successful applicants will form a contingent of medical personnel responsible for attending to Nigerian pilgrims during the physically demanding Islamic pilgrimage.
Selection criteria emphasize not only medical expertise but also the ability to function effectively in high-pressure environments. The chosen professionals will undergo specialized training in managing health issues common during Hajj, including heat-related illnesses, respiratory infections, and complications from pre-existing conditions.
The medical team operates from temporary clinics established in pilgrim accommodations and field hospitals near ritual sites. Their responsibilities extend beyond conventional healthcare to include preventive medicine, health education, and coordination with Saudi health authorities throughout the pilgrimage season.
The application process occurs against the backdrop of evolving health protocols in Saudi Arabia, where authorities continue to implement measures developed during pandemic-era restrictions. While pilgrim quotas have returned to pre-pandemic levels, health screening and monitoring remain priorities for participating countries.
Nigeria typically sends one of the largest contingents to the annual pilgrimage, with numbers expected to exceed 50,000 pilgrims this year. The medical team’s work encompasses the complete pilgrimage cycle, from pre-departure screenings in Nigeria through the intense days of ritual in Makkah, Arafat and Madinah, and continues until all pilgrims have returned home.
The 2025 Hajj medical mission represents the continuation of Nigeria’s decades-long tradition of providing healthcare support to its citizens during one of Islam’s most significant religious obligations.
