Malawi Census Vacancies 2025 for Temporary Enumerators of Economic Activities (CEA2)

Call for Application – Malawi Census Vacancies 2025 for Temporary Enumerators of Economic Activities (CEA2). The National Statistical Office (NSO) with technical and financial support from the World Bank (StatCap project) will conduct the Second Census of Economic Activities (CEA 2) from June 2025.

The objectives of the Economic Census are:

a) To find out the number of small, medium and large businesses operating in this country, their location, their sector, and ownership among other things. The data will also be used to determine the value that these businesses contribute to the Malawi Economy.

b) To provide the basis for the production and rebasing of different kinds of economic statistics such as the Producer Price Index (PPI), Index of Industrial Production (IIP) and Construction Cost Indices (CCIs).

The census will highlight the progress made towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Malawi 2063. Among the variables to be assessed will be the proportion of women and youth engaged in any form of business and their contribution to the Malawian economy.

The National Statistical Office is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of an enumerator for the CEA 2. The data collection will be for a period of about 2 months.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants should possess academic credentials in Accounting or Business Administration – Certificate, Diploma or Degree level
  • and must be in the range of 21 – 55 years of age.
