LILONGWE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES
TO: ALL CONCERNED STAFF AND STUDENTS
RE: ON USAID FUNDED PROGRAMMES
LUANAR Issues Statement on USAID Funded Programmes – As you may be aware, the Government of America ordered the suspension of all work and expenditures in all projects/activities that were getting their financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) effective from January 2025. To this effect, I wish to advise that the University suspended all its activities related to the same until otherwise advised by the funder (USAID).
All staff that were working in USAID funded projects are therefore advised to immediately stop working. Similarly, students that were getting support from USAID projects are advised that their funding from USAID is no longer there hence may consider to either drop or look for funding alternatives.
Please note that LUANAR does not have resources to continue with the said project activities hence you are advised to proceed as advised, above.
