Limpopo College of Nursing Fourth Intake for Diploma in Nursing (General) 2026 Application: Limpopo College of Nursing invites applications for the fourth intake of the Diploma in Nursing (General) under the South African Nursing Council (SANC) Regulation R.171 of 8 March 2013. This three-year programme, offered at NQF Level 6 with a total of 364 credits, prepares students for professional nursing practice in South Africa’s healthcare system.

Training is available at four campuses: Giyani, Sovenga, Thohoyandou, and Sekhukhune. The course is conducted in English and includes both theoretical and clinical components. Upon successful completion, graduates receive a Diploma in General Nursing and qualify for registration with the South African Nursing Council.

Applicants must be South African citizens and meet the minimum academic and subject requirements. Applications are open for the 2026 academic intake, and successful candidates will receive bursary allowances through agreements with the Limpopo Department of Health.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric exemption) or National Senior certificate – Bachelor’s Degree Pass. A minimum of 24 points on rating scale excluding Life-Orientation.

English – HG E or Level 4
Biology/Life Sciences – HG E or Level 4
Physical Sciences – HG E / Level 4
Mathematics – HG E / Level 4
Maths Literacy – Level 5

TRAINING

The three-year Diploma Programme in Nursing is presented by the Limpopo Province College of Nursing at its four(4) Campuses, namely Giyani, Sovenga, Thohoyandou, and Sekhukhune in accordance with Regulation R.171 of the South African Nursing Council.
On completion of the course, a candidate will obtain a Diploma endorsed by the Moderating Higher Education Institution serving as Quality Assurer which allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council for the Diploma in General Nursing.
