We offer the 3 year Diploma in Nursing (NQF 6) and 1 year Higher Certificate (NQF 5). Both programmes are full time study and are accredited and registered, existing to attract and develop nurses for the future of healthcare in South Africa.
Diploma in Nursing (3 year programme) (SANC Regulation R.171)
Core Purpose of Programme
Prepare students with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to function as a clinically focused, service oriented, independent nurse practitioner, able to render competent nursing care determined by the appropriate scope of practice.
Socialise the ethical into the profession to demonstrate the appropriate attitude, behaviour and image of the profession and uphold the ethical and legal needs that govern professional practice.
On completion of the qualification, the student will be able to register with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), as a General Nurse and will be able to enroll in further higher education studies in nursing.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted to the relevant learning center annually.

Minimum Admission Requirements
Minimum statutory National Senior Certificate (NSC) requirements for entrance into higher education with The Nursing College Admission Point Score (APS) of 24 or above and
English language at NSC’s achievement rating of 50 – 59% and Mathematical Literacy or Mathematics at NSC’s achievement rating of 4 or 50 – 59% and Life Sciences at NSC achievement rating of 4 or 50 – 59% and An alternative to the NSC is The National Vocational Certificate: Primary Health NOF Level 4 with The Nursing College Admission Point Score (APS) of 24 or above.
Recognition of Prior Learning for Access for Entrance:
National Senior Certificate;
SANC Enrolled Nurse Auditing or Enrolled Nurse qualification.
Current SANC annual practice licence.
Exit Level Outcomes
Provide nursing care throughout the life spans in various healthcare settings.
Use and maintain healthcare information systems for nursing practice.
Manage a healthcare unit by implementing the management process.
Render nursing care with a legal and ethical framework.
Duration
3 years. Full time study.
Total Credits for the Programme
HEOSF criteria: Diploma NOF level 6

Apply knowledge of pharmacology in nursing practice.
Provide reproductive health care to promote and maintain optimal health of individuals and families.

On completion of the qualification, the student will be able to register with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), as an Audinary Nurse and will be able to enroll in further higher education studies in nursing.
