KWERA 2025 Online Application for Public University Students Now Open (Fully funded) – Kwera has officially opened its applications for the 2025 academic year! Kwera is dedicated to financing higher education for public university African students, developing their leadership and employability skills, and helping them achieve their dreams.
Eligibility Criteria
- Females: 25 points or less.
- Males: 18 points or less.
- High integrity.
Applications are assessed by Kwera, including currently enrolled Student Climbers. We focus on identifying the following criteria:
- Complying with the grade requirements (e.g. MSCE or ACSEE).
- Complying with relevant ‘Kwera culture’.
- Growth mindset.
- Drive.
- Integrity.
- There is no application fee. Any expenses related to documentation, transport, telephone, etc. related to the application process are to be covered by the Student Climber applicant. Such expenses will NOT be refunded by Kwera.
Please ensure that you have the following documents ready at hand, as these are required in order to complete the application form:
- Copy of your Grades/Notification of results (ACSEE or MSCE with the points visible).
- National ID.
- Recommendation letter from either your religious leader, village head or university registrar.
- If you are a continuing student, your previous semesters’ results.
Important Information for Applicants
At Kwera, we do not offer traditional loans or scholarships. Instead, we invest in your future through an Income Share Agreement (ISA). This means that after you graduate, you will be required to pay back 10% of your gross salary for 10 years. However, the total amount you repay will never exceed three times what we initially invested in you. If you are unable to secure a job for 10 years post-graduation, you will not be required to make any payments.
As part of your commitment to Kwera, you must actively participate in our Kwera Skills Program throughout your studies. This program is essential for your development and success. Failure to adhere to the requirements of the Skills Program will result in the termination of your financial support from Kwera, and you will be obligated to repay the amount we have already invested in you.
It is also crucial to understand the consequences if you choose to withdraw from Kwera or if you are expelled from Kwera or your university. In such cases, you will be required to immediately return any gadgets provided to you by Kwera, including laptops and phones. Additionally, Kwera’s investment in you will be converted into a loan, which will bear interest. This loan must be repaid in full as soon as possible from the date of termination of the agreement.
