In todays latest KMTC News – KMTC Signs 21st Cycle of Performance Contract with the Government.
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, signed the 21st cycle of the Performance Contract (PC) with the Ministry of Health, reinforcing its commitment to the delivery of quality health training services in line with national development goals.
The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry of Health Annex, was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, who signed on behalf of the Government.
KMTC Board Chairperson Mr. Joseah K. Cheruiyot signed on behalf of the College in the presence of Board Director Eng. Joseph Atonga and CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch.
Addressing the 21 Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet Secretary commended them for their efforts in enhancing service delivery to Kenyans.

He emphasized the significance of the timely signing of performance contracts, observing that delays witnessed in the current cycle should not recur in the future.
Hon. Duale further underscored the role of performance contracting in the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), urging that performance targets be cascaded to all staff levels to foster collective responsibility and accountability.
He called on all agencies to pursue full achievement of their targets through integrity, transparency, and prudent resource utilization.
As a key Government institution for health training, KMTC plays a pivotal role in accelerating the realization of national health objectives, including UHC, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and the operationalization of the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Also present at the ceremony were Health Principal Secretaries Ms. Mary Muthoni Muriuki (State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards) and Mr. Harry K. Kimtai (State Department for Medical Services), as well as the Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth.
