KeNIA 2025 Recruitment: Multiple Permanent Positions Open Until 18 November. Applications are open for multiple permanent positions at the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA). The agency is inviting qualified professionals to join its team and contribute to building a stronger national innovation system. These vacancies span across innovation, human resources, ICT, communication, and administration.

The recruitment also includes a re-advertised role for a Senior Driver. 1 Principal Innovation Officer – Grade KeNIA 5 – 6 posts – Advert No: KENIA/1/2025

JOB SPECIFICATION

An officer at this level may be deployed in the following functional areas:- Capacity Development and Management, Commercialization, Ecosystem Coordination and Advancement and Policy and Standards and Quality Assurance

2 Principal Resource Mobilization Officer – Grade KeNIA 5 – 1 post – Advert No: KENIA/2/2025

Job Specification

  1. Implementing policies, frameworks, strategies and plans on partnership and resource mobilization;
  2. Reviewing proposals for resource mobilization;
  3. Facilitating negotiations, development and review of institutional agreements in accordance with the Agency policies;
  4. Ensuring maintenance of comprehensive database of partners, agreements, MoUs for funding in the Agency;
  5. Maintaining local, regional and global strategic alliances and institutional linkages;
  6. Liaising with other internal departments to align partnerships with the mandate of the Agency;
  7. Identifying potential sources of funding from development partners, government, corporate, non-governmental organizations, foundations, and trusts.
  8. Participating in mobilization of resources from the government, private sector, development partners and other sources;
  9. Identifying strategic projects/programs to development partners funding programs;
  10. Guiding and ensuring adherence to terms and conditions set in partnership agreements;
  11. Reporting on disbursement and absorption/utilization of partner funds; and
  12. Generating of requisite reports.

4 Senior Office Administrator – Grade KeNIA 6 – 1 post – Advert No: KENIA/7/2025

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  1. Taking oral dictation;
  2. Using e-office to research and process data;
  3. Attending to visitors/clients;
  4. Handling telephone calls;
  5. Handling customer inquiries and complaints; coordinating schedules of meetings and appointments;
  6. Coordinating travel arrangements;
  7. Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents including classified materials;
  8. Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of information;
  9. Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office;
  10. Preparing responses to routine correspondence;
  11. Overseeing office protocol and etiquette;

5 Human Resource Officer I – Grade KeNIA 7 – 1 post – Advert No: KENIA/4/2025

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  1. Analysing data on work environment and employee’s satisfaction surveys;
  2. Maintaining Human Resource Information System (HRIS);
  3. Ensuring Compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating to human resource;
  4. Updating of Staff Medical details, National KENIA Insurance Service (NHIF) and National
  5. Social Security Service (NSSF) records;
  6. Checking and confirming compliance with code of rules and regulations and the Kenya labour laws;
  7. Preparing agenda and minutes for the human resource committees
  8. Drafting disciplinary letters and summarizing cases; and
  9. Maintaining personnel filling systems for staff and ensuring they have the necessary information.

Communication Officer II – Grade KeNIA 8 – 1 post – Advert No: KENIA/5/2025

Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

  1. Implementing communications, customer and branding strategies to support the Agency’s objectives;
  2. Supporting activities to enhance the corporate image of the Agency;
  3. Monitoring internal and external media communication functions;
  4. Assisting in protocol management;
  5. Organizing Agency’s planned events and functions;
  6. Providing content in the development of Communication materials;
  7. Supporting implementation of the Agency Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and preparing reports;
  8. Responding to customer enquiries
  9. Receiving, analysing and sharing customer feedback;
  10. Manning information desk services at public awareness programmes and outreach forums.

ICT Officer II – Grade KeNIA 8 – 1 post – Advert No: KENIA/6/2025

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  1. Analysing, designing, testing and implementing ICT applications;
  2. Providing advanced user support;
  3. Maintaining and support ICT systems;
  4. Training end users in ICT systems;
  5. Repairing and maintaining ICT equipment;
  6. Receiving, installing, certifying and configuring ICT equipment;
  7. Maintaining and updating Website and portals;
  8. Configuring and maintaining local area networks and wide area networks;
  9. Updating and maintaining ICT equipment inventory;
  10. Preparing ICT technical specifications and user manual and documentations; and
  11. Escalating any faults for further action.

Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  1. Driving vehicles as authorized;
  2. Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
  3. Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
  4. Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
  5. Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
  6. Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles;
  7. Preparing and submitting reports on transport;
  8. Ensuring security and safety of passengers and vehicle on and off the road;
  9. Ensuring proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle;
  10. Ensuring adherence to or observations of traffic laws; and
  11. Ensuring reporting of any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur.

The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) is a State Corporation established under the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Act, No. 28 of 2013 under the Ministry of Education. The core mandate of the Agency is to develop and manage the National Innovation System. The Agency is therefore responsible for co-ordination, promotion and regulation of the National Innovation System.
