Through the EU-funded EU YEP – Tourism and Creative Industries, we are offering scholarship opportunities for Gambian youth to enroll in a formalised apprenticeship programme in Tailoring and Garment Construction.
The apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme where apprentices learn on the job to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become professional tailors. The programme will last for 18 months, during which time the apprentice will be hosted by a tailoring business and work onsite with them.
SELECTION CRITERIA
• Must be a Gambian citizen.
• Must be aged 18-35.
• Females and persons with disability are highly encouraged to apply.
• Each applicant can apply at only one hosting training institution.
The 18-month Apprenticeship will be hosted at one of the following institutions:
- Ida’s Idea.
- Malick Mendy Tailoring.
- Bakoteh Production and Innovation Centre.
Note: Applicants may apply to only one of these institutions.
