HELB KMTC Students Financing Scheme Loan Applications 2024/2025. The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has partnered with The Higher Education Loans Board to set up the KMTC Students Financing Scheme to offer financing to students pursuing medical courses at KMTC. The scheme will cater for tuition fees.
FIRST TIME LOAN APPLICATION
Eligible students:
Students enrolled at KMTC pursuing certificates and diploma courses.
How to Apply:
Applicants should visit our website to access the Student Portal to register, create and activate account (ensure you use your personal mobile number registered under your name and national ID number).
During the registration process, input your National ID number, a valid email address, and create a password before clicking register.
After creating your account, verify it through the activation link sent to either your email’s Inbox or Spam/Junk folder.
Log in to the portal and complete your profile under My Profile, filling in sections regarding Personal Information, Residence, Education, Institution, and Parents. Upload all necessary documents at this stage.
To apply for funding, navigate to the HELB menu and under the Loan Application Tab, select the KMTC Student Financing Scheme.
Review and consent to the personal data collection as outlined in the consent form, accepting the loan terms and conditions.
Fill in your guarantor’s details as requested.
With all required information provided, submit your completed application form.
Note that this is a paperless application process, and there is no need to print or submit a physical copy. A PDF version of the application will be sent to the email address you provided.
You will be enabled to track the status of your application on your HELB student
Please ensure that you read, understand, and follow the instructions provided at the beginning of the online loan application process including reading and undertaking the HEF Financial Literacy Programme.

The closing date for the application is 24th June 2025
SUBSEQUENT LOAN APPLICATION
Eligible students:
Students enrolled in KMTC and are applying for the second and subsequent student loan.
How to Apply for HELB KMTC Students Financing Scheme Loan Applications 2024/2025
Download the HELB App from Google Play Store OR use USSD Code by dialing *642#. Note that there has been an upgrade on the HELB App, therefore ensure to upgrade your App.
Register using your phone number to generate a One Time PIN which you will use to log in. Ensure the mobile number is registered under your name. Please NOTE that mobile numbers not registered in the student’s name will not be able to proceed with the application.
Read, understand, and click to accept the license agreement.
Enter your first name as it appears on your national ID card, the ID number and valid email address to complete registration.
Click on the loans tab and choose Certificate/Diploma. Then click apply on the KMTC subsequent loan.
Read and understand the process tutorial and proceed to read the financial literacy guide.
Click on get started to start the application process.
Enter your phone number which should be registered in your name and national ID number to verify that you are the owner of that number.
Read and understand the loan terms and conditions and agree to proceed.
Answer the financial literacy questions and scroll down to view results and click proceed.
Click request loan to view and verify your loan details.
Click submit to complete the loan application. A pop-up message will appear to show that you have successfully applied. The loan serial number will also be displayed.
At later dates, you will receive other notifications on awards and disbursements of the loan.

This application is paperless. You are not required to print any form. A confirmation SMS with a loan application serial number is the evidence that you have applied. Kindly save the SMS for future reference.
