Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECoL) To host the 15th Southern Africa Association for Educational Assessment (SAAEA) Conference – The 15th Southern Africa Association For Educational Assessment Conference (SAAEA) will be held in Maseru, the Capital town of Lesotho from 15th to 17th June 2026, hosted by the Examinations Council of Lesotho.

SAAEA is composed of 11 member organisations from 9 countries in Southern Africa. The Association was formed with the aim of sharing good practices in educational assessment and research. It is a platform where Educational Assessment Professionals and Scholars benchmark on current and best assessment practices in education.

SUB-THEMES

    age: strategies for securing assessment processes against cyber threats

Call for Papers

Educators, Educational Assessment Professionals and Scholars are invited to present papers at the conference. Abstracts not exceeding 300 words should be submitted to [email protected] by 26 November 2025. Authors of abstracts that will be accepted for presentation will be notified via email by 16 December 2025.

Deadlines for submission are:

. 22 March 2026 for full papers
. 26 April 2026 for Power Point presentations.

Conference fees

Registration fee: USD300.00
This fee includes refreshments and conference materials.
Excursion fee: USD60.00

Currency

The currency used in Lesotho is Maloti and the South African Rand. 1Loti is equivalent to the 1(ZAR) South African Rand.

VISA Application

Delegates from SADC countries do not require a VISA to enter Lesotho.

Full papers for accepted abstracts must not exceed 4500 words.

Authors must use:

  • font type: Times New Roman Type Face;
  • font size: 12 and 1.5 spacing.

The Sub-theme being addressed should be clearly stated.
