Call for Application: De Beers Group PhD and Masters Sponsorship Programme 2025 for Botswana Citizens ( Fully funded to University of Botswana). We are looking for dynamic candidates to undertake multidisciplinary research studies in critical areas of study that will benefit Botswana in the long term.
As part of the Talent Development Programme,De Beers Group in collaboration with the University of Botswana seeks to sponsor PhD and Masters Degree candidates who meet reasonable minimum sponsorship requirements at the University of Botswana.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Botswana citizens between 18 – 35 years of age.
Priority will be given to individuals from underprivileged backgrounds.
Each candidate’s admission & participation in the Sponsorship Programme shall be subject to such student meeting the minimum academic requirements for each PhD or Masters (as applicable).
In order to apply please submit the following to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Enterprise, University of Botswana as a single PDF document:
Application letter which includes motivation why you believe you qualify for the sponsorship opportunity (1000 words maximum) as it relates to your underprivileged background
Applicant’s abridged CV (2 pages maximum) detailing academic record, teaching and other work experience, research outputs and engagement.
Research concept (1000 words maximum outlining the research topic, the problem statement, objectives, key research questions and the methodology).
Provide reference letters or letters of support especially from those people who can articulate your academic or research ability.
Provide certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts.

PROGRAMME INCLUDES
Tuition, monthly stipend, research funding and conference attendance both locally and internationally where applicable.
The sponsorship will cover the entire period of study based on satisfactory academic progress every semester.
