The colleges of DAPP Mzimba, Dowa, Amalika and Chilangoma invite applications from interested young Malawians to start a primary school teacher training which upon completion will lead to an award of a T2 Certificate. The training will take place at the above mentioned teacher training colleges in Mzimba, Dowa, Thyolo and Blantyre rural districts respectively.
DURATION
The training will take Two Years to be completed.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
All those who are aspiring to be trained as primary school teachers should have the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with a minimum of 4 Credits which must include English and at least one of the following science subjects: Agriculture, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Home Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Science and Science & Technology. The applicants must be ready to work in rural primary schools in Malawi.
CURRICULUM
The Training prepares the teacher for the rural primary school through theoretical andbpractical work, cooperation with the community and many other responsibilities.
The colleges follow the Ministry of Education Initial Primary Teacher Education Curriculum with added subjects specific for DAPP Teacher Training Program.
FEES
Successful candidates will be required to pay School fees for the training. School fees for the whole Teacher Training is K460, 000.00 per Term, SUBJECT TO CHANGE, payable in instalments in each Term. The Training is for Six Terms (2yrs), the Teaching Practice Period inclusive.
