How to Apply for A Professional Driving Perrmit (PrDP) in Botswana and the driving license classes and Age. The following documents are needed for application of Professional Driving Permit (Passenger & Special);
- Valid identity card (omang)
- Completed application form (DL 1) available at DRTS
- Valid eye screening result slip (from DRTS/private and government hospitals)
- Valid driving license card (must be two years old and above)
- Health declaration (DL31)
- Police clearance (completed on the Application form (DL1)
- 2 passport sized photos
- Prescribed fee of P190.00
The following documents are needed for application of Professional Driving Permit (Goods/Hazardous);
- Valid identity card (omang)
- Completed application form (DL 1) available at DRTS
- Valid eye screening result slip (from DRTS/private and government hospitals)
- Valid driving license card
- Health declaration (DL31)
- 2 passport sized photos
- Prescribed fee for Goods P205.00
- Prescribed fee for Hazardous P220.00
NB: No waiting period to apply for Goods PrDP
- For Hazardous PrDP waiting period is 2 years
- Must have a Certificate from a qualified institution for the Hazardous goods
PENALTY FEE FOR LATE RENEWAL OF PrDP P10.00 PER DAY (EXCLUDING WEEKENDS & PUBLIC HOLIDAYS) NOT EXCEEDING P500.00 IN TOTAL.
PrDP MUST BE RENEWED WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF ITS EXPIRY

- Class C1 (Motor vehicles used for carriage of goods and exceeds 3.500kg but not more than 16.000kg)
- Class C (Motor vehicles used for carriage of goods and exceeds 16.000kg)
- Class D (Motor vehicles used for carriage of passengers and goods)
