The Botswana Defence Force (BDF) has opened another applications for the 2025 Officer Cadet intake with limited vacancies. This opportunity is aimed at young, disciplined, and motivated Botswana citizens who wish to build a professional military career. The programme offers academic and professional growth, international exposure, and a chance to study at top military academies in the United States. Eligible applicants must meet the academic, physical, and character requirements set by the BDF before the closing date of November 7, 2025.
Potential Candidates should possess the following:
a. A Levels with a minimum of grade B in Mathematics, Sciences and English Language
b. BGCSE or Equivalent with a minimum of 42 points and a minimum of grade B in Mathematics, Sciences and English Language.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Botswana Citizens both male and female (with no dual citizenship).
b. Should be in possession of a valid National ID card (Omang).
c. Candidates must be 18 years and not yet 23 years on 1st July 2026.
d. Be physically and mentally fit.
e. No adverse criminal records
f. Minimum height of 160 cm for males and 155 cm for females
g. Minimum body weight of 55 Kg for males and 45 Kg for females.
J. Female candidates must not be pregnant at recruitment.
k. Candidates should be unmarried with no dependents or legal obligation to support a child or children.

SELECTION PROCESS
All candidates shall undergo a selection process which includes: Physical fitness assessment and comprehensive medical exam, aptitude tests, oral interviews and group tests.
MANDATORY TRAINING:
Successful candidates shall undergo a requisite Officer Cadet Training and a 4 year Military degree programme in the United States of America at the prestigious Air Force Academy and US Military Academy (West Point). On completion of training officers must be ready to serve in various geographic locations and environmental conditions.
Attach certified copies of relevant educational certificates/documents, transcripts and National Identity Card (Omang). CV and references must be attached.
