Honourable Ebi Ben Ololo who is the new commissioner for environment in Bayelsa state has pledged his commitment towards the enforcement and implementation of Environmental standard and regulations in the state.
Hon Ben Ebi Ololo who stated this while addressing Directors of his Ministry shortly after assumption of duty on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, promised to work in Synergy with staff in order to achieve a safe and healthy environment.
The new environment commissioner said his Ministry will tackle issues of climate change, waste management and forms of Environmental degradation to engender tourism and socio-economic development. in line with the prosperity agenda.
Mr Ololo used the occasion to appreciate Governor Douye Diri for appointing him as Commissioner called for teamwork among staff to achieve set goals.
Presenting handover notes to the new commissioner, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr Korubo Clinton Uncle pledged workers’ resolve to support the new commissioner to enable him to succeed in his official duties.
Mr Uncle highlighted some of the core mandates of the Ministry to include; regulations and preservation of the Environment and monitoring among others.
Highlight of the event is the presentation of operations and functions of the various departments by Directors of the Ministry.
