Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority Declare War Against Offenders – The Chairman of Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Hon. Timothy Diekivie Itiedu, who led the team along side his Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ebikibina Ugo, Board Members, Directors of Operations & Compliance, Mr. Micheal Toikumoh, Deputy Director of Human Resources Management (HRM), Mr. Asueni Okolobi, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Mr. Ebifemowei Debarge and other management staff, said the exercise was carried out to ensure that residents do not turn Bayelsa State into an environmentally backward state, as they were fully on ground to observe the Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the Month of November as carried out by residents in Yenagoa Metropolis and its environs.

Hon. Timothy Ituedu, stated that it is no longer be business as usual for defaulters of the state Sanitation law, calling residents to always clean their surroundings.
Hon. Timothy Ituedu emphasized that one of the cardinal thrusts of the prosperity government is to ensure that Yenagoa becomes one of the cleanest and safest city in the country.

The Environment Sanitation Chairman who spoke to to newsmen shortly after the apprehension of some Commercial cab drivers, Traders, Keke riders and some youths who were loitering during the Sanitation period noted that the arrest would serve as a deterrent to others.

The Chairman advised business operators in the state to conduct themselves properly and do business according to environmentally accepted standards.
Hon. Timothy said the monthly environmental sanitation exercise is on a continuous basis and to continue the operations frequently.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Mr. Ebikibina Ugo stated that although, the exercise witness a few cases of non compliance with the Sanitation laws by some residents, however pointed out that they were propally handled according to the operational laws of the state.

A total of Twenty-nine (29) offenders was arrested and taken to sanitation court where they tried and finned in line with Bayelsa Environmental Sanitation law (BESA). While Four (4) persons was reprimanded at the State Correctional Centre Okaka for double count charge wish include assault.

Hon. Timothy Ituedu pleaded with residents to always keep their environment clean as cleanliness is next to Godliness.
