Bayelsa Post Primary School Board Assures Newly Recruited Teachers of Salary Payment

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN POST PRIMARY SCHOOLS BOARD ASSURES NEWLY RECRUITED TEACHERS ON PAYMENT OF SALARIES SOON

The Executive Chairman Post Primary Schools Board High Chief Millionaire Asangba has assured the newly recruited teachers of the payment of salaries in no distant time. Chief Asangba stated this when a delegation of the newly employed teachers paid him a courtesy call in his office in Yenagoa.

High Chief Millionaires Asangba congratulated the newly employed teachers on their well deserved employment and further appreciated them for exploring dialogue instead of resorting to violence, in pursuit of solution to their challenges.

The PPSB Boss assured them that the challenges surrounding the delay in the commencement of payment of their salaries have already been taken care of and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.

The chairman further charged the newly employed teachers to be dedicated to duty and involve God in all they do.

Lending his voice to the challenges of the teachers was HRM, King Alfred Diete-Spiff who stopped by on a brief visit to the Executive Chairman Charged the teachers to be patient with government as all hands are on deck to improve their situation. HRM gave his Royal Blessings to the newly employed teachers and admonished them to be dedicated to duty and be of good behavior always.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation Mr. Boleigha, Confidence Ebi of Bayelsa State Sports Academy Asoama, thanked the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri and the Board Chairman, High Chief Millionaires Asangba for finding them qualified to be employed as Teachers of the Government owned Secondary Schools in the State.

Mr. Boleigha however expressed the concern of the newly employed teachers regarding the non-payment of their salaries almost six months after their employment. He reiterated that the non-payment payment of their salaries is greatly affecting their productivity and in general their family lives, as they are finding it very difficult to survive and carry out their official responsibilities diligently.

Also speaking, a mathematics teacher from CSS Ewoi, Mrs. Mercy Igirigi stated that the non-payment of their salaries have seriously affected their welfare and their love for the job. She appealled with the Board Chairman to assist them in presenting their case to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.
