Bayelsa Ministry of Environment Begins desilting of Creeks and Canals (Photos)

In a bid to fashion out modalities for the predicted 2024 flood warning issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, has commenced desilting of creeks and canals within the State Capital, Yenagoa and its environs to mitigate flash flooding in the state through the Bayelsa State Ministry of Environment under the steering of Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo.

The exercise when completed will help to cushion the impact of the anticipated 2024 flood as predicted by (NIMET).

Bayelsa State Ministry of Environment deploys Swamp boogies to desilt blocked canals in the Commissioner quarter, Airforce base, Osiri/ Ekeki/Azikoro, Assembly/ Bayelsa Palm in the fight against the ravaging flood. Other areas are Custom road/Asters/Kpansia GRA/Okaka.
