ACB LIFTS RESTRICTION ON THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION AND MINISTRY OF HEALTH RECRUITMENT OF DISEASE CONTROL SURVEILLANCE ASSISTANT (DCSA), STATISTICAL CLERK AND HOSPITAL CLERK
ACB Malawi Lifts Recruitment Restriction On Local Government Commission And Ministry of Health – Following numerous complaints received and pursuant to its powers under Section 23(1) of the Corrupt Practices Act, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) restricted the Local Government Service Commission and the Ministry of Health from proceeding with the recruitment of Disease Control Surveillance Assistants, Statistical Clerks and Hospital Attendants in all the Districts Councils.
The Restriction Notice was issued to allow the Local Government Service Commission address some of the anomalies identified during preliminary investigations into allegations of corrupt practices which the ACB has been receiving regarding the recruitment process.
Following discussions between the Local Government Service Commission, Ministry of Health and the ACB, the restriction notice has been lifted. The Local Government Service Commission and the Ministry of Health are therefore allowed to proceed with the recruitment while abiding by relevant recruitment procedures and ensuring that there is fairness and no corruption in the process.
The Bureau is calling on all stakeholders involved in this process to desist from corrupt practices and encourage job applicants and everyone to report any incidents of bribery and any form of corrupt practices during the recruitment process.
