Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) is implementing activities under the Presidential Initiative on Maternal Health Project, which aims to strengthen Human Resources for Health (HRH) training in Malawi. Available Scholarship Opportunities
1. Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSc Midwifery) – 60 scholarships.
2. Bachelor of Science in Community Health Nursing (BSc CHN) – 40 scholarships.
3. Bachelor of Science in Community Health Nursing (Mature Entry) – 10 scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be Malawian nationals currently working in or aspiring to serve in the public health sector.
- Must have 4 years working experience in the area of interest
- Meet the academic entry requirements (as highlighted below) for the respective training programmes as set by Kamuzu University of Health Sciences and have submitted an application for admission into the listed programs.
- OR Have been offered a place to commence studies in the listed programs in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
- Demonstrate commitment to serving in Malawi’s health system, particularly in maternal and community health services.

- A letter of recommendation from a supervisor or District Health Office (for those already employed).
- A motivation letter stating how the training will contribute to improved

Admissions requirements;
1. MSCE/O-Level six (6) Credits including credits in Biology, Physical Science/ Chemistry and Physics, English and Mathematics
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution OR University Diploma in Nursing
3. Be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi or an equivalent regulatory body
4. Those with Nursing and Midwifery Technician Diploma level are not eligible for entry into this program
5. Letter of good standing
6. Post diploma experience is not required for this program
