OACPS@50 Logo Design Competition: Call for Submissions (€1000. Cash prize). The Organisation of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) is currently running its OACPS@50 logo design competition to mark its 50th Anniversary. The competition is open to Citizens and institutions from OACPS Member States, either as individuals or teams. Botswana is a member of the OACPS, in this regard interested Batswana are encouraged to enter the competition.

I. Introduction

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS). Rooted in the spirit of unity and solidarity, the OACPS has evolved into a key player in global multilateralism, representing the interests of its 79 Member States across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. As the Organisation marks this significant milestone, it seeks to visually capture its legacy, achievements, and renewed vision for the future through a commemorative logo that embodies its dynamic tri-continental identity and commitment to sustainable development. II. Objective

The aim of the competition is to provide a logo that will serve as the official emblem of the OACPS@50 year-long celebration, In recognition of the creativity and rich talent resident with its three regions, the Organisation invites designers to create a logo that will symbolise the 50th anniversary of the OACPS, celebrating its unity, achievements, diversity, and vision for the future.

III. Eligibility

  • Open to all citizens of OACPS Member States, and institutions resident in, and accredited to Member States of the OACPS.

  • Participants may enter individually or as a team.

  • All participants 18 years old and younger must have consent from a legal guardian.

  • Participants must have permission to use any images contained in the logo.

IV. Logo Requirements

To ensure consistency and eligibility, all the following requirements are mandatory for a submission to be considered:

  • Must prominently incorporate the concept of “OACPS@50”.

  • Must be available in digital (animated) and print formats.

  • Must be usable interchangeably in both French and English environments (OACPS@50 / OEACP@50).

  • Must be effective and legible in both English and French versions.

  • Should reflect the theme of the OACPS@50 celebration: “A Transformed and Renewed OACPS in a Changing World”. Extra credit will be given to designs that incorporate the themes of unity, diversity, partnership, resilience, and sustainable development.

  • Must include the official OACPS colors or elements that harmonise with them: Green: Pantone 355C, Orange: Pantone 140C, White.

  • Must be adaptable to various media: print, digital, online, presentations, merchandise, and large formats.

  • Should be original, distinctive, and easily recognisable, and entirely created by the participant without the use of generative AI tools.

  • Specifications for the digital version:

    • Animation must be more than three seconds;

    • Must be in full colour;

    • Transitions must be natural and engaging.

  • Specifications for the print version:

    • Must be submitted in both color and black-and-white versions;

    • Must visually reinforce the animated version of the logo;

  • Should be legible in different sizes without loss of quality or readability.

V. Submission Requirements

  • Digital logo:

    • Transparent PNG file;

    • 1000×1000 pixels, with vector graphics format for easy scaling;

    • 30 frames per second (fps).

  • Print logo:

    • in high-resolution formats: JPEG, PNG, and vector format (AI, EPS, or SVG).

  • A description of maximum 200 words to explain the design concept and symbolism;

  • A signed declaration of originality and transfer of usage rights to the OACPS;

  • Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) designs.

VI. Timeline

  • Initial launch of Competition: 17 May 2025

  • Deadline for Submission: 26 September 2025

  • Announcement of Winner: 3 October 2025

VII. Selection Criteria

Qualified entries will be judged by a selection Committee drawn from Members of the OACPS@50 Group and the Secretariat of the OACPS, using the following criteria:

  • Creativity and originality;

  • Relevance to the theme and values of OACPS;

  • Visual impact and aesthetic appeal;

  • Versatility and reproducibility across all platforms;

  • Technical execution.

VIII. Prizes

  • The winning entry for the Overall Competition will receive a monetary prize of €1000.

  • The winning entry will also receive a certificate of recognition and an invitation to one of the 50th anniversary celebration activities.

  • The top five finalists will receive a certificate of recognition.

  • The designs of all finalists will be featured on the website of the OACPS and the special OACPS@50 website portal for the duration of the celebrations.

  • The winning logo will be officially used in all OACPS@50 communications, publications, and events.

IX. Copyright and Usage Rights

  • By entering the competition, participants agree that the OACPS will have full rights to use, modify, and reproduce the winning logo without further compensation beyond the awarded prize.

  • Non-winning entries remain the property of their creators but may be subject to future use with mutual agreement.

X. Submission Instructions

  • Submissions must be sent to [email protected] with the subject line “OACPS@50 Logo Competition Entry” by 11:59 pm CEST on 26 September 2025.

  • All required files and documents must be attached.

  • Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

XI. Other Conditions

  • OACPS reserves the right not to select a winner if none of the submissions meet the required standard.

  • Decisions of the judging panel are final and are not subject to appeal.

  • Members, or immediate family members of the staff of the Secretariat of the OACPS or the members of the Ambassadorial Working Group of OACPS@50, are not eligible to enter the competition.
