HESLGB Releases 2025/26 Provisional Loan List for Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA)

HESLGB Releases 2025/26 Provisional Loan List for Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA). The Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) is pleased to announce to all accredited Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), continuing and newly selected students, parents/guardians, and the general public that on 15th August, 2025, HESLGB approved a provisional list of loans beneficiaries for the 2025/2026 loan cycle. The successful applicants will be subjected to a Vetting and Bonding process, which is jointly carried out by the HESLGB and respective HEI administrators.

HESLGB received a total of 1092 loan applications from Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA). Upon rigorous assessment of the loan applications, 1010 applicants met the eligibility criteria.

HESLGB would like to make a special appeal to all its stakeholders and the general public to provide feedback on the provisionally approved names directly to the Secretariat of the HESLGB or through the offices of Registrars or Deans of Students of each respective higher education institution, in case some individual students are on the provisionally approved list but are not needy. This information will help in the effective targeting of really needy and deserving students and contribute to reducing the error of inclusion of non-needy and undeserving students on the list of beneficiaries.

Names of all provisionally approved beneficiaries can be accessed from 15th August, 2025 through the offices of Registrars or Deans/Director of Students Affairs in the respective higher education institutions and on the HESLGB website (www.heslgb.mw). HEIs Administrators are encouraged to paste on the notice boards in their respective institutions the provisionally approved list for the students and the public to access.

Loan applicants who are not satisfied with the outcomes may submit an appeal with the designated two-week period, from 18th to 29th August 2025, through the Student Financial Management Information System (SFMIS), the platform used for loan applications.

For further information, please contact us during working hours and we will be glad to assist you.
