Mpumalanga Livestock Development Programme (Masibuyele Esibayeni) 2025/26 for South Africans

Call for Application: Mpumalanga Livestock Development Programme 2025/26 for South Africans. The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development Land and Environmental Affairs invites interested livestock farmers in the Mpumalanga Province to apply for participating in the Masibuyele Esibayeni Program.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be from previously disadvantaged group residing in Mpumalanga Province, aged 18 and above. The basic requirement for participating in the Programme is availability of sufficient land for the livestock that is being applied for to accommodate livestock numbers at the recommended carrying capacity. The completed application forms should be accompanied by the following attachments:

Certified copies of ID of ALL applicants; valid confirmation of access to land in the form of a title deed or Permission to occupy or long term lease agreement (with 5 or more years) and a business plan or business profile. Small holders and commercial farmers must attach proof of annual income. Applicants must demonstrate ability to create jobs, current markets or off-take agreement and other relevant information about the farm and the applicants. Applicants to attach relevant authorisation documents such as Environmental Impact Assessment, biosecurity plans and animal branding/marking/identification certificates.

Applicants should demonstrate the availability of relevant infrastructure for the commodity applied for, such as boundary fencing, water troughs, loading zone, animal handling facilities and proper housing for piggery, poultry and rabbits. Vulnerable groups i.e. women, youth and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Other commodities funded are poultry, rabbits, fish and dairy cattle.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process will include short-listing of potential beneficiaries, site visits by technical team to conduct farm assessment for verification of information provided by applicants. If you have not received a response within 90 days after the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.

EXCLUSION

Farmers who have received livestock through the MESP in the previous 5 years and have not yet serviced the loan, Public servants, Public Office bearers and minors are excluded
