Basic Salary Scale:
Kshs.52,330 – Kshs.96,130 p.m.
House Allowance:
Kshs.35,000 p.m.
Commuter Allowance:

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) Served in the grade of Economist/Statistician I for a minimum period of three (3) years;
(ii) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance, or Economics and Statistics, or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
(iii) Membership to a relevant professional body;
(iv) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
(v) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance results.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Preparing Sectoral policy briefs, reviews and reports;
ii. Initiating the preparation of annual, mid-term and end-term Medium Term progress reports;
iii. Implementing decisions and resolutions on regional economic integration agenda;
iv. Identifying and dealing with emerging Sectoral and cross-cutting socioeconomic issues;
v. Undertaking economic modelling and forecasting;
vi. Conducting Programmes Performance Reviews (PPRs) and sub-sector reports for MTEF;
vii. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the implementation of national and sector-specific Programmes, projects and activities;
viii. Tracking milestones in Vision 2030 flagship projects;
ix. Updating and maintaining a database to generate key information such as national census, key subsets and production of the national annual progress reports;
x. Coordinating capacity-building support to Government agents, Civil Society;
xi. Disseminating national policies and strategies to community members through appropriate fora and institutions.
