Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Mobile Voter Registration 2025/2026 Now Open

Call for Application:Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Mobile Voter Registration 2025/2026 Now Open.

The Commission will be undertaking a nationwide mobile voter registration exercise this year as part of its preparatory activities for the 2026 General Sections. This initiative aims to ensure that all eligible citizens are given the opportunity to register as voters in readiness for their participation in the upcoming electoral process.

In view of the foregoing, the Commission intends to engage qualified and experienced Zambian nationals to fill various part-time positions across the districts. Accordingly, find attached the following job advertisements which must be displayed on public notice boards and places in your respective districts:

  1. District Voter Education Trainers (DVETs)

  2. Voter Education Facilitators (VEF)

  3. Assistant Registration Officers (AROFs)

  1. District Voter Education Trainers

The Electoral Commission of Zambia wishes to engage 232 suitably qualified Zambians for the positions District Voter Education Trainers (DVETs). These are part time positions for the activities to be undertaken in all the 116 districts across the country for the 2025 Registration of Voters exercise.

Reporting to: The District Electoral Officer (Town Clerk/Council Secretary).

Main accountability

To conduct training of District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) members and Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the DVEC with the recruitment of VEFs to ensure that only qualified citizens are recruited;

  • Arrange for and conduct the training of DVEC members and VEFs in the district of deployment; and

  • Ensure timely availability of suitable training venues and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Zambian citizen with a green National Registration Card and Voter’s Card;

  • Must have a Grade 12 Certificate with pass in English;

  • A degree in a relevant social science field, preferably in civic education/teaching;

  • Certification in facilitation or teaching methodology will be an added advantage;

  • A minimum of two (2) years demonstrated experience in facilitation, training or teaching;

  • Conversant with Zambian electoral practices and procedures will be an added advantage;

  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English and the local language spoken in the area/district applied for; and

  • Must be a resident of the distinct writers one is applying for.

Personal Attributes:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills;

  • Must be non-partisan, of sober character and high integrity;

  • Must have good team building ability and a team player;

2,Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs)

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) wishes to engage 2500 suitably qualified Zambians for the positions of Voter Education Facilitator (VEFs). VEFs will be engaged on a short term contract for a period of two (02) months to conduct voter education activities for voter registration in all the 116 districts across the country.

Reporting to: The District Voter Education Coordinator;

Main accountability

To provide voter education to citizens in the area of deployment:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning for voter education activities;
  • Mobilizing community members in the targeted ward to attend voter education activities;
  • Organising and facilitating voter education activities;
  • Conducting voter education activities throughout all the area of deployment as directed using diverse education methods and formats;
  • Reporting on all voter education activities implemented; and
  • Ensuring priority groups have access to voter education materials and information.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Zambian citizen with green a National Registration Card (NRC) and Voter’s Card;
  • Must have a full Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent with a pass in English;
  • A tertiary education qualification preferably in teaching/education will be an added advantage;
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English and the local language spoken in the ward applied for;
  • Must be a resident of the district where one is applying for;
  • A good knowledge of the ward where one is applying to work is a must; and
  • Not in full time employment.

  • Must be able to implement voter education activities as directed
  • Must be a self-starter, driven by overview

3. Assistant Registration Officers (AROFs)

The Electoral Commission of Zambia will be embarking on registration of voters this year. The Commission seeks to recruit 2500 qualified and experienced Zambian nationals to fill the position of ASSISTANT VOTER REGISTRATION OFFICERS – FIELD (ARO – F) on short term contract for period of two (02) months to be deployed in all the 116 districts across the country.

Purpose of the Job

The Assistant Registration Officer -Field is responsible for the registration of voters in a Polling District (Voter Registration Centre).

Reproting Accountability

The Assistant Voter Registration Officer – Field will report to the Assistant Voter Registration Officer – Supervisor (ARO-S) in their respective constituencies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct voter registration according to registration procedures;

  2. Ensure safety of equipment and materials in their custody;

  3. Ensure stocks of materials are maintained and requests for any additional materials are made timely;

  4. Backup registration data regularly;

  5. Provide reports to the ARO-S;

  6. Maintain close collaboration with the Assistant Registration Officer – Technical Support (ARO-TS); and

  7. Perform any other responsibilities as requested by ARO-S.

Qualifications And Experience

  1. Must have a Grade 12 Certificate with passes in English and Mathematics;

  2. Must have a tertiary qualification with a minimum of Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution;

  3. Must be computer literate; (evidence of computer literacy will be added advantage);

  4. Must be a Zambian citizen with a green National Registration Card; and

  1. Must be a resident of the district where one is applying for.

Application letters accompanied by a Curriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies of required educational certificates and contact number(s), MUST be addressed to the District Electoral Officer (Town Clerk/Council Secretary) of the applicants’ district of residence. Applications must reach the District Electoral Officer not later than Friday, 1st August, 2025.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be residents of the district they are applying in and possess a valid NRC and Voter’s Card.
  • Minimum educational requirements vary per position.
  • Application letters must be addressed to the District Electoral Officer (Town Clerk/Council Secretary).
