Call for Application – Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture 2026 External Bursaries.The Department of Agriculture invites applications from unemployed youth with Grade 12/Matric/NCV or currently studying Grade 12 or NCV with the following subject combinations:
Mathematics and Physical Science for Agricultural Engineering or Bio-Resource Engineering
Life Science, Physical Science, and Mathematics for Veterinary Technology
Interested candidates may apply for or currently be studying toward:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Agricultural Engineering/Bio-Resource Engineering
Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) Degree in Veterinary Technology
REQUIREMENTS
South African citizenship. Preference given to Eastern Cape unemployed youth residents and historically disadvantaged groups.
Proof of residence (less than 3 months old) from a local municipality.
Proof of admission/provisional admission/registration from a registered Higher Education Institution.

Financial eligibility:
Combined annual household income ≤ R350,000 (or ≤ R600,000 for applicants with disabilities). Submit proof of income/affidavit and parent/guardian’s ID copy.
Disclosure of existing sponsorships with proof.
Service obligation: Successful applicants must work for the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture for a period equivalent to their funded study duration.
