Examinations Council of Eswatini Clarifies Text Message Sent to 2023/24 Marking Applicants. The Examinations Council of Eswatini (ECESWA) wishes to clarify that the text messages making the rounds received by individuals who applied for marking positions in the 2023 and 2024 examinations were sent by them.
They confirm the that text message was sent on the 9th of June 2025 as part of the ECESWA standard communication process with applicants. The text messages were sent as measure to alert applicants that some of their personal information may have been exposed during the application process.
We assure recipients that:
- The messages are authentic and authorized.
- They were sent in accordance with data protection protocols in Eswatini.
- ECESWA sent these messages in good faith to protect the interests of marking applicants.
- There is no evidence at this stage that data was misused.
According to ECESWA , their IT team is actively working to strengthen ECESWA’s data protection efforts.
In the future, such messages may be sent as necessary, in line with the organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and communication with all stakeholders.
