37 TEVET TRAINERS EMPOWERED IN SOLAR THERMAL TECHNOLOGIES

37 TEVET TRAINERS EMPOWERED IN SOLAR THERMAL TECHNOLOGIES

37 trainers from different TEVET providers and industries across Malawi have been empowered with training in Solar Thermal Technologies that took place at Lilongwe Technical College.

The two day training was conducted by the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE).

TEVETA Director of Training Programmes Modesto Gomani commended SACREE for the training, adding it will assist in economic use or energy.

“This training aimed at empowering trainers with additional knowledge and skills in the emerging area of Solar Thermal Energy Systems. This area aids in energy efficiency in our societies as we are grappling with high demand for electricity,” he said.

The Executive Director for SACREE, Kudakwashe Ndhlukula, said it is of great joy to see instructors from all regions in Malawi participate in the training.
“Alot of knowledge was shared and i believe they will utilise it to make a difference,” he said.

Martha Phiri, an Electrical Installation and Electronics instructor at Lilongwe Technical College expressed her gratitude to SACREEE for imparting her with advanced and great knowledge.

” I have learnt how to install not only electrical geysers but solar geysery. I will pass on the knowledge that I have been imparted with to my trainees.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with SACREE, TEVETA and the Ministry of Energy.
